A to Z Challenge "A"

A is for A to Z Blog Challenge

So I came across the A to Z Blog Challenge a couple of months ago via a blog I read.  It seemed intriguing and I mulled it over for a while.  I really want to be more active on my blog, and I thought maybe this would be a way to do it.  But then reality set in, and I thought to myself "Can I really be committed to blogging that much in one month?"

The premise is to write something that coincides with every letter of the alphabet, beginning with A on April 1st and ending with Z on April 30th.  With the exception of April 1st, Sundays are excluded in posting.  I have come up with a tentative list of blogging ideas for each letter of the alphabet.  I am not sure if I will be able to finish it.  I have procrastinated and I don't have very many posts written, and the beginning of the month is going to be hectic.

I have read on Blogging from A to Z that some people are able to write all of their posts around a central theme. My hat is off to those who do.  Wow!  Maybe as I become more proficient at writing, I could do something like this.  I teach 1st grade, though, therefore I feel like my writing is often like that of a first grader! I guess I have chosen to write about my family, my likes, interests, and maybe some dislikes. Is that a theme?

So, in closing, if you are one of my regular blog readers (I think I have a couple, hi Mom!  Hi Nancy!) thanks for reading and I hope to open myself up to you some this month.  If you are new to my little old blog, welcome!  I hope you will visit again soon.

Now I am off to figure out "B"

  4. You can think of a really loose theme. It doesn't have to be something amazing, just something that knits things loosely together.

I did things that motivate/inspire and otherwise help me write. Lots of room there ;)

Good luck with it. You're off to a great start :D

  6. I like this idea--I am the daughter of a writer--he wrote everyday-diaries, sermons, newspaper articles, letters, school teacher reports--as a society we are losing the art of written expression. Look forward to reading your posts!

    1. I agree, when I try to teach writing the first graders look at me like I'm crazy when I ask them what kinds of things their parents write. They reply "texts". I want Wheeler to see us writing more than texts.
